Posting pictures & videos

02 September 2010 - 10:17 AM

Do I have a 500KB limit for posting pictures per day, or is it only once?
How do I put pictures at the end of my message, instead of as an attachment?
I saw that someone recently posted videos. How do I do that?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm still trying to figure it out...

Las Vegas Concert Experience

02 September 2010 - 09:46 AM

My husband and I went to Michael's concert in Las Vegas last Saturday and I thought I'd share a little bit about it.

First off, the MGM Grand Garden Arena felt a lot smaller than I expected, so I was excited because it felt like we would actually be able to see something. We've only been to one other concert of Michael's, and we were pretty far back. This time, we were in the second section back on the floor, and it felt so much closer!

There was, of course, a lot of excitement when the music started for "Cry Me A River". It continued until he came onstage with his very powerful opening vocals. He sure knows how to build anticipation and make an entrance! His voice did sound a little tired, but he's been touring for a few months now, and he had just done a concert the night before. Not even a day off....I don't know how he has the energy! But, of course, he was wonderful....funny and engaging, as always. He talked about his engagement a little bit and made jokes. He's so good at connecting with his audiences and that night was no exception. And I was pleasantly surprised to be able to see Michael fairly well without looking at the screens the whole time.

The especially lovely songs, in my opinion, were "Georgia On My Mind" and "Crazy Love", two of my favorites on this album. He also included "Everything", "Home" and "Save the Last Dance"....not surprising, as they're favorites. Hearing "Mack the Knife" and "Me and Mrs. Jones" did surprise me, and I expected to hear "Lost" but didn't.

Then, about half way through the concert, he came off the stage and walked up the center aisle to a small platform near the back of the floor section. He was only about 20-25 feet away from us! I had read that he walked around in the crowd at other concerts, but I had no idea that he would go that far back....and stay there for so long! He apologized to the people in the front, and said they must have felt badly for paying so much for their tickets and then having to watch him from so far away. We took a bunch of pictures and videos. Unfortunately, our camera is *terrible* in even slightly low lighting, so all the pictures we took are blurry. I'll include a few anyway. But the videos turned out pretty nicely.

The whole concert felt extra special because he said he had a number of family members there, including his grandpa. He later pointed out his grandpa, who was about 20 feet from our seats. The coolest thing was that, while he was in the back, he said he was going to do something that he hadn't done before. His grandpa had asked him to perform "Stardust" that night. He said it wasn't on the set list, but he had practiced with Naturally 7 (who were phenomenal in the opening, by the way) and they were going to perform it in concert for the first time. He blew a few kisses to his grandpa during and after the song and told him that he loved him. We were basically sitting right in Michael's sight line to his grandpa, so we could kind of enjoy that sweet little moment.

When he left the stage at the end of the concert, the audience clapped and cheered and stomped, waiting for him to do an encore. He finally came back out and sang a few more songs, ending with his signature "Song For You", part of which was sung a cappella. The vocal ability of this man never fails to amaze me. It was a great concert and over much too soon. I can't wait until his next tour!
