No, this isn'y old news, but I tried to get the song that he did with benit and it's callled Just In Time. That's off the first one.
Michael actually duetted with TB on two songs on the last project - Just In Time and Steppin' Out With My Baby (but I think this was only on the deluxe / bonus track version). It also came with a 'making of' DVD which was great.
Can't wait to hear the next project - I love Tony Bennett too......

And Tony and Michael recording "Just In Time" from 2006. I tried to find a YouTube of them performing it (think retro Rat Pack Vegas show). It was very fun and cool. I can't remember if it was on the behind the scenes dvd or not...I've got to go find my copy, but it was televised.
Enjoy!

Of couse, he doen't sound nearly as good as he did say when he was michal's age. Now, I'm not saying thsi to make people mad, but I think that he's had a good run, and why is he still amking cd's? Again, this is just what I think, I'm not trying to have people threw flames at me. I don't know if he's already done this but, has he done a fairwel tour?
But, being a singer, I also know that if you don'tuse your voice like you use to, then it's only natuarly to not be at the same leval of singing that you once were. I'm not saying that he can't still sing, he can, but what I'm saying is why can't he just retire?

I'm not really a fan of Benitt, but if michael sings with him then I'll listen. This man, who has been around for many years, and will be loved by peple even after he's gone, is wonderfull.

Obsessed, I could not disagree with you more. I saw Tony Bennett live in concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London a couple of years ago and he was fabulous. He has not lost his voice at all. In fact, he sang without a mic at the end (in a similar way to Michael does in his show) and you could still hear him. he can only still make CD's because people want to listen. If no one bought them, the record company would not invest any money and it wouldn't happen.

So please, like I said in my last post, I wasn't trying to make anyone upset, I was just stating how I feel.

Oh no, I'm not saying he can't sing. He can, but it's just I think everyone needs to at some point, well, stop. Everyone I think reaches a point and the just want to retire, and do other things with there lives. Yeah, he is, and will always be one of the greats in music.
So please, like I said in my last post, I wasn't trying to make anyone upset, I was just stating how I feel.
If you're going to express your opinion publicly, you have to accept the fact that others are going to express their disagreement with yours. Especially when that opinion is insensitive at best. And of course, you should be able to explain such an opinion that many would find rude. WHY do you think older people should just give up what they love to do? You may want to put us old folks "out to pasture" but fortunately, most people have a lot more respect for their elders. Tony Bennett sells out when he does concerts. He sells a lot of records. He wins GRAMMYs because he puts out quality work. Why should he retire? Not only does his career make him happy, it makes his worldwide audience happy. There are a number of older posters on this board. Do you think they should leave all the posting to the young folks?

So, again, I didn't want to make peopl mad, and if I came across as rude, well, I'm sorry.

That being said...I have to stress the fact that am with Vegi on this one. Although you are saying "he can sing", you did state that because of Mr. Tony´s age he should retire. This said, if you are so obssesed with MB you should at least "try" to really know what makes him "tick" (meaning musically). Just to let you know MB was beyond himself when Mr. Tony invited him to be part of the duets. Am almost sure MB would find your assessments really rude or just plain ignorant. I say this with much respect towards you. Age does not define what a person should keep on doing. It´s all about empowerment and what makes you who you are. Granted, we get slow with age...but I think that´s one of our best assests. No rush, rush...just one day at a time living to the fullest.
Am a woman who may be "old" and should retire as you say...but I will keep on with my good Rock & Roll to the day the Good Lord retires me.
Just an after thought, yep, all who know who I am, know by now that I would not leave without my usual Boricua input.
Obssessed following your rational thought...hmmmm...MB should retire also and leave his space to ...the one and only Bieber! (hope I spelled this right)...now am off to my corner...

Tony Bennett obviously has no plans of slowing down any time soon, but even as long as he's been doing what he does, he's DEFINITELY still got it. I for one feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to see him in my lifetime.
I managed to get a few photos and a couple of short videos (unfortunately I could only get my camera to record minute long videos - turns out I had it on the wrong setting - oops). I'll try to put them up when I have a chance.

Good for Tony Bennett ..I grew up listening to him sing & still love hearing him today :r
I hope he keeps singing & MB keeps recording with him.
I agree Michael wouldn't be happy with your opening statement as Tony is a mentor of Michael.
