Hello All!!
Am I cheating by putting 2?
At the Cardiff concert in July 08 ...
(- my first concert, let alone first Buble show!! Sad eh? Guess at 35 I'm a late starter!!! But I've decided to make up for it with exceptional stamina!!!!!!! - )
....The black gauze curtain got stuck about 2 ft off the stage, and didn't lift on cue at the start of the show. MB held the pose for a split second, glanced at Alan, and then ducked under the curtain in a seriously smooth manner. Straightening up, he rolled his neck, threw back his shoulders, and carried on singing to cheers and laughter from the audience. It was cool....After the song, the curtain had been lifted and Michael said, with a shake of his head and a big grin....
"...something like that hasn't happened to me on stage since I was about 16....But you know what?, all I could think about was that I just ruined my freakin hair!!!" And laughed pretty hard at himself.
I really like how he pokes fun at himself. For me it is my favorite part of the personality we get to see.
For the same reason I liked his response when asked if he ever listens to himself;
"...oh yeah, all the time...and I think, God, how did you get to be so good!...then I just kiss the mirror..."
or words to that effect!!!!! But you get the tongue in cheek irony of the guy.
My Grandmother used to say that I was blessed. As a child I'd ask her why? and she'd say.."blessed are those who can laugh at themselves - as they will always be amused! And you...you probably won't be able to breathe sometimes for laughing, the way your turning out!!!!"
Back then I didn't really get it, and just thought MMMNNNN! Thanks Nan!!...now I know she was right, and it gets me through 'this crazy life, and through these crazy times'... I'm very glad MB has this 'knack' as well, I'm sure it is a real sanity saver in his rollercoaster world.
Anyway, if nothing else, he really makes me laugh!!!
Cannot wait to see him / them, as soon as they start to tour again - UK side of the world that is!!
