Did anyone on here watch the live stream from Webster Hall last night? OMG!! He literally took my breath away! I had to watch it twice.

Wow! I wish I could have been there, but at least I got to see it live and I saved the airfare and a vacation day from work!
Michael looked and sounded AMAZING. I Love the quirky little faces he makes. Posted Image

Di,
From what I heard it wasn't a very pleasant overall experience. Most everyone stood in line for 3 hours or more to get in. They were an hour late opening the doors and then, it was standing room only... No seating and the place was not anything like your regular venue. Big mosh pit. All for 45 minutes.

When the album goes number one, I imagine the "big mosh pit" feeling is going to be the rule rather than the exception. Posted Image

I guess we have to take the bad with the wonderful but I'm personally very happy I've gotten to see him in a couple of lovely old theaters in the last few years.

Oh, I don't think that it was all that bad, Daryl. We were told that the doors would open at 6, when we could pick up our tickets, "festivities" at 7, then the concert at 8. Some people got in line really early and I got there after 5. However, the doors opened at 7 instead of 6, so we had an extra hour of standing in line. As we were all talking and meeting other board members, it really wasn't so bad.

Inside, it was standing only on a cement floor, but many of us knew that and still stupidly wore heels, but we just kicked our shoes off to be more comfortable. Drinks were available from a cash bar, but various vodka martinis were free.

Then Michael came out and, as you can see from the MSN video, he was absolutely amazing. I was up near the front with many of the other board members and we were all mezmerized by Michael. It was a fabulous experience and definitely worth the wait.

It was a VERY pleasant experience I think! It was a lot of standing around, but the excitement was so high and we were able to get acquainted. It was an awesome night...will be hard to top!

Oh, and the venue was very small and intimate. It was VERY New York too!

Undeniably, absolutely worth it.

I LOVED every second of being there.

I will post a full review on my "I won tickets" thread.

I am not sure what people were expecting - but I was THRILLED with the arrangement. If people stood in line for hours - it is really their own fault, WHY bother?

I was told the doors opened at 6, so I was there by 5:30. The doors opened at 7:00 instead - big deal! And they got people in FAST! If it was a seated venue chances are you would have been MUCH farther away then ANY of us were. And if you have ever been in a true MOSH PIT - this was nothing like that! It was controlled - you stood in your own space. For some of us that was closer then others - but even if you were in the far back you STILL were much closer then a typical venue. I can only imagine Radio City - row 10 or 15 would be as far back as you could have been at Webster Hall!

As for how long he played - no one I knew expected him to play for more then an hour. It wasn't a CONCERT - it was an album launch and most people got the tickets for FREE!

What more could you ask for?

I saw on the BB board some people complaining about the experience, and I can't understand why, as I thought it was fantastic. I'd much rather see Michael in such an intimate setting than in the bigger venues anyway, so this was a major plus for me.

I had heard from the board that doors opened at 6PM, but found out that day they opened at 7PM...and even so, I arrived at the venue at 6:15PM so that I could be sure to run into the board members and say hello. I had a hell of a good time working the line and chatting.

Doors opened at 7PM, and everyone was in the venue within a few minutes time. Those that wanted to stand up front did so, and if anyone preferred to stand a bit back from the press of the crowd, they did, and were probably only about 50 feet from the stage at that point. I saw no pushing or shoving, just a bunch of people having fun and enjoying the performance.

It was very organized, the show was terrific and the energy of the crowd was incredible. I was fortunate in that I was on the balcony (only about 15 feet above the crowd,) on the right and had a perfect view of the stage and not very many people up there...it was mostly press, family (of the band members,) friends and management.

I have to agree that if anyone arrived super early, that was their preogrative to do so, but there was no need as the venue capacity is around 1400, and I heard from MB's management that the amount of people expected that night was around 800. There really was no bad place in the house.

From the looks of the faces when the show ended, everyone had a blast...so to me, it was a major success.

I'm in Japan right now, and the video won't work for me, on the Japanese page or the English one. I really want to see it. Can anyone help me?
