I searched for Michael on a Norwegian search engine and I got a fresh review of CMI from a Norwegian online newspaper. not good. they gave it 2 out of 6 and were, I think, mean to Michael. something else though, they said this was his 11th album and that he'd released 10 of them after 2001, I think they were trying to hint that many albums in a short space of time means that they're of poor quality. anyway, is this really his 11th record? maybe if you count all the "unofficial" releases...
but I was really upset with the review. if any one of you who can read Norwegian wants to read it anyway, a link:

*sigh* I need a hug. the music I like always gets bad reviews, I don't like it!!

Hi Karen
I become really annoyed with reports especially when they don't get their facts right.
I have been at concerts or the theatre on a first night and I wonder whether the critics have been at the same show.
Its Michael's third album under David Foster since 2004. Why don't you send them an e-mail and ask for a correction. Ask them whether the reviewer wasn't muddling Michael up with someone else.
Best wishes from UK

Michael does have other albums though. I don't know about 11 but there were others before he connected with David Foster.
Either way, this is one critic's opinion. I was at the show last night and had a GREAT time!!! Even though I ordered the internet only edition it did not come so today I went out and bought the special edition because I wanted it NOW!!! lol. That after being on a train for a few hours returning from NYC today!!! So for this critic, well, I say, who cares about his opinion!!! Didn't stop me from buying the album!! Let's hear him sing.. and let's see if when he does.. I want to dance (I was a dancing fool last night!!)
Chin up.. it's just one review. You have got to take the good with the bad. David Foster told Josh Groban and probably Michael too.. don't believe the good press.. that way you won't have to beleive the bad press either. Sounds like good advice to me!!

Hon, don´t worry about this...I know it can be quite frustrating when you hear or read things like this...but TO EACH ITS OWN!!! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and MAN DO WE KNOW BEAUTY
, plus how can you give much credit to people that apparantly don´t have their facts up to date.
Michael, as so many things in this world...may be "our cup of tea" but their will always be "nay sayers"...our gain...their LOST!!!

I could be wrong, but I honestly believe that most critics are just jealous. I think that's simply what it is. I think that they see someone with talent and doing something that they most likely can't do they just get jealous. Critics will always be critics and most of the time they just need to be ignored. I think the kids who always got picked on on the playground and they couldn't become anything or get a real job so they just become critics. lol. jk. (but seriously.) It's like Michael sings in "That's Life," "Some people get their kicks stompin' on a dream." Just ignore the critics because there are more people who would side with the fact that Michael is amazing and talented than would disagree with that statement. That's just my opinion.

The same newspaper reviewed Dimmu Borgir's new cd and gave it a 5--- think that says it all. I discussed this with some friends the other day and we discovered that all the reviewers who were so mean to people like Michael and Josh Groban, were MEN. they didn't like classical crossover or standards, but if you looked up the other reviews they'd written, they obviously praised hip hop and rock. regardless of the artist.
That upsets me even more, if possible, cause it feeds the idea that there is guy music and girl music. I've often been picked on for having a "girly" taste in music; that I like the stuff I like JUST because I'm a girl.
I hate being told that the music I like is "for grannies" or "gay music". sorry, had to vent.

well this is a discussion that will always pop up periodically.
and all I can say is....people might like it or not. who cares? as long as MB produces his music and as long as we want to hear him ( cause everybody might change his/her tastes), we'll enjoy this world he brought us in.
Not so many people are mature (sp?) enough to understand that not only the stuff you like is enjoyable. I'll never be a fan of......system of a down..eminem and other stuff, though I like some songs of those artist, from that genre. but still I'd never say they're bad, or that only some categories are "stupid " enough to like them.
as for the previous cd, before reprise label, if I'm not wrong they were 4, released between 2000 and 2003...not sure: "first dance", "dream", "babalù" and "totally bublè" soundtrack of Totally Blonde movie.
