Hi Jennifer,
I read your post on the other thread. I can't even imagine going through such a traumatizing event such as Katrina. Your Mom, Grandma and the rest of your family are doing well. I love the Sacramento area. What a nice place to relocate to. Keep us up to date on your singing career. Are you strictly an opera singer?
Thanks for sharing your story

Hi Anne!

Thanks for your well wishes! Actually, I was trained in college to have the techniques to sing Opera but what I love to sing is musical theater. I am more interested in that than pursuing an opera career. I do not have one of those huge operatic voices; mine is more light and lyrical. Perfect for singing with Michael Posted Image Thanks for asking Posted Image Sacramento has treated me wonderfully so far, and I love it!

Boricua,

Thank you for the reply! I read your post on the other thread and can completely relate to your feelings. I may have to try listening to "Feeling Good" as soon as I wake up...it's way too early to feel good, but I know that song would help a lot!

Dear Jennifer:

What a beautiful, moving story. I am still crying as I write this. The rest of the world could only imagine what you, your family, and thousands of others have been through with Katrina. I am so glad to hear that Michael and his family got to hear how his music helped you. I hope he is realizing what a beautiful gift he has been given by God. To be able to affect others lives like he does is such a powerful thing. I will keep you and all of those still displaced by Katrina in my thoughts and prayers, as so many around the world are doing. I wish you much luck wth your new job and city and keep dreaming! I read that Michael used to pray every night that God would make him a singer and look what happened! It can happen to you too girlfriend!

wow, that's very exciting! I have alot of family in New Orleans(my Dad's entire side of family is from there!),and my Dad's aunt and cousins had to evacuate also. They stayed in Texas with other family, so I really sympathize with you. I used to live in Memphis for a while before moving here and I miss it!! Did you like it there?

The people in Memphis were absolutely wonderful to us! We were there for 8 days, and met so many gracious people there. I went into Wal-Mart to get bottled water and this lady came up to me and asked if I was from New Orleans. I told her I was and she handed me $20. She told me she wanted to help at least one person Posted Image I hugged her and cried. Memphis had the nicest people!

That's a nice story! I miss Wal-Mart! Unfortunately NYC doesn't have any, but that's alright. I just want you to know I'm so sorry for what happened to your city, and I think that everyone from there has got to be one of the strongest group of people ever. Posted Image I hope you like Nyc!!
