Nico,
I know you enjoyed Brussels because you said so in another thread. Michael makes each song his own, I agree with you that there are echo's of other great singers in his songs.
He has a very powerful voice, yet he can make it small when he wants to. I hear Dean Martin in a couple of lines of Sway and Sinatra in Try a little Tenderness, and Elvis in your song, and his take on Ray Charles cracks me up.
But they still now "belong" to him. I firmly believe he is THE VOICE of the 21st Century as Sinatra was of the 20th. There is no one to touch him for talent and range. Look at t he Operatic version of I Will Survive, thats another range altogether. He is incredible.

We have talked about this before, and you are so right. I can't listen to a song by another artist such as Sinatra without thinking about Michael's version. That just shows the impact he has had on this music. It is hard to improve upon songs that have such a history and are so close to people's hearts. But, somehow Michael does it with such class!! He is the best vocalist I have ever heard!

lil chick, So good to hear from you again.
You will know from my thread, Michael Kissed
Me in Brussels, that this little old lady is on a complete high. However, I have come down sometime and what better time than a discussion about his extraordinary voice and its range and power. As you know, I worried and worried about his staying power with so many concerts on top of each other all over the world. There was no need. I've now seen three Shows and will be in Cardiff for his last one over here.Quite apart from the beautiful voice in the beautiful package, his energy is unbelievable!!!!
Here I go again, on and on, but there really is no one who comes within a hundred miles of him.
I am completely sold and now I have Caught in the Act (marvellous)to watch into the early hours. This DVD is just like being back at one of his Concerts, it is magnificent.

HELLO AGAIN, Nico.
You are most welcome to express your opinion on this Board and to disagree when you feel you must.
There is only one thing we do not discuss on here and that is Michael's private life.
You may remember I am the English woamn in the spotlight at the beginning of Michael's Concert in Brussels.
I know that you in Belgium love music of all kinds and I do too.
In my long life I have seen Sammy Davis on stage and Sinatra quite a few times. They each have their own qualities of excellence. As do all the other "Stars" I have seen.
Michael Buble is in my opinion, the best by far
the warmth and emotion and love for his fans is real and thats what makes him the best, in my opinion.
Enjoy your music and if you can,get Caught in the Act and watch the warmth with which he greets Josh Groban, if you want to know what I mean.

well let me start by saying that i too think he is the greatest jazz crooner at the time but i meant in general that there are some other fantastic singers out there and that you cannot compare him with sinatra because thats unfair.sammy davis i say because of the 50's recordings you may have seen them but at an older age so you can't compare theses artists with buble who's in his best years.i am in general a jazzmusic lover so i can say i've listened to a lot of music(1000cd's)
when you mention buble's warmth and emotion for his fans then you're right it was fantastic how
casual he was and warm to the fans!!
so you must know that''my music'' is jazz!
And i will buy caught in the act for sure!!
greetings

Nico, I still have to disagree with you. THEY were not OLD when I saw them. I am a very old lady and am talking about them when they were like Michael.
Let me put it this way. I was on my way to a Sinatra concert in London when I had a car accident and broke the windscreen by going through it. I was taken to hospital AND WHEN THEY HAD DONE THE DRESSINGS, I DISCHARGED MYSELF AND WENT TO THE CONCERT ANYWAY.
So was

Sorry Nico I was typing so fast, it all went wrong.
Anyway, I was so MAD ABOUT Sinatra, thats what I did.
Nowadays I have to say Sinatra was THE VOICE of the 20th Century and Buble is, and will be, THE VOICE of the 21st Century ----- in my opinion!!!
I agree there are plenty of great voices out there but no one with the charisma of
Michael Buble and I hate people saying he is the next Sinatra because I think he is better than ole blue eyes and I never ever thought I would say that about anyone.
Sinatra was "Street Wise" Buble has warmth.
Best regards, see you another day, must go to bed

Cana't go to bed yet, I have to answer Twin 1
Well Twin 1 people seem to think I'm what you say I am and I only wish I was your age and could see and hear Michael for the rest of my life. I'm glad I've lived long enough to see him and to get a kiss in Brussels.
I really truly adore the photo of him with you
You are one lucky girl.
Good Night xx

Hello again Nico,
So sorry to hear you say you give in, I enjoy our discussions.
Its possible to like more than one singer at a time as you know. I think with Michael its simply that he gives so much of himself, Sinatra always kept something in reserve.
I saw Judy Garland on the London stage several times. Now those were "white knuckle" rides I must say because she gave so much of herself too
and she was a very fragile person. I think Sammy Davis was like that too, but he was a really tough little cookie. He really was a survivor whereas Judy wasn't.Ella Fitzgerald was incredibly shy and nervous This is turning into a bit of a lecture ----
so tell me to stop.
Enjoy talking to you.
